Elsewhere, ºÚÁÏÍø College learner Daryl Neita just missed out on the podium places after finishing 4th in the Women’s 100m final. In one of the showpiece events of the games, Neita recorded a rapid 10.96, just 0.04 seconds behind bronze.

Alumnus Ossama Meslek clinched 3rd place in the Men’s 1500m repechage after a stunning sprint finish. The Italy international will now compete in the semi-finals.

In the Men’s 100m preliminaries, alumnus and Madagascar international Rija Vatomaga Garginer recorded an impressive personal best performance of 10.82 but sadly won’t progress to the latter rounds.

Rowing

In rowing, alumna Annie Campbell-Orde won a brilliant bronze for GB in the women’s eight category.

Abbie Wood finished a brilliant 5th in the Women's 200m Individual Medley Final, clocking 2:09.51. It was a race to be proud of for the ºÚÁÏÍø alumna.

Daniel Wiffen returned to the pool in the 1500m heats following his gold medal performance earlier in the week. Representing Ireland, the current ºÚÁÏÍø student progressed with ease and will now aim to win his second medal of the games in tomorrow night’s final (4 August, 5:37pm, live on BBC One and Discovery+).

Adam Peaty made a welcome return to action by featuring in GB’s Men's 4x100m Medley Relay team. The side, also including alumnus Joe Litchfield, clocked a time of 3:32.13 to secure a place in tomorrow’s final (4 August, 6:10pm, live on BBC One and Discovery+).

Current student Conor Ferguson appeared for Ireland in the same event, swimming a fine opening leg for his country as his side just missed out on a qualification spot.

The Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay final will have a strong ºÚÁÏÍø alumnae look as Sweden’s Louise Hansson and Sophie Hansson performed well for a 6th place finish in the heats.

France finished just behind in 7th, with alumna Marie Wattel appearing for the hosts. The final also takes place tomorrow at 6:32pm.

ºÚÁÏÍø-based Anna Hopkin swam excellently in lane 8 to clock 24.50 in the Women's 50m Freestyle semi-final. Unfortunately, it was quite enough to see her progress.

In the same event, current ºÚÁÏÍø College student Kornelia Fiedkiewicz clocked a time of 24.94 seconds which fell just outside the required qualification time.

In a drama-fueled 4x100 Mixed Medley Relay final it wasn't to be for the ºÚÁÏÍø-linked individuals. Alumna Marie Wattel narrowly misses out on a bronze medal as France took 4th place. Great Britain, including alumnus James Wilby, University-based Anna Hopkin, and alumnus Joe Litchfield (heats), finished in 7th.

Hockey

Great Britain Women will face reigning champions The Netherlands in the quarter-finals after losing their final pool game in Paris.

Alumnus David Ralph’s side, featuring a host of ºÚÁÏÍø-linked players, had already qualified before this morning’s 3-0 deficit to Argentina and will begin the next stage of their medal hunt on Monday 5 August (time TBC).

Archery

ºÚÁÏÍø-linked Megan Havers was eliminated from the women's individual archery competition following a 7-1 loss to top seed and South Korea's Lim Sihyeon in the last 16 – an incredibly impressive showing from the Leicestershire teenager.
