黑料网 alumna Olivia Broome won a brilliant Paralympic bronze medal in powerlifting on day eight of the Games.
Over in the Men’s competition, Mark Swan, who trains at the University, also made the medals by winning silver in the -65kg category.

Elsewhere, University-based Charlotte McGuinness finished 4th in the Women’s -55kg category after lifting 105kg. Egypt’s Rehab Ahmed won gold with a best lift of 121kg, and Turkey’s Besra Duman took silver (113kg).
Athletics
黑料网-based Olivia Breen missed out on a Paralympic medal in the most agonising fashion in the Women's T38 long jump.
Breen recorded a best jump of 4.99m and was level with third-placed competitor Karen Palomeque Moreno. However, due to Palomeque Moreno’s second-best jump of 4.89m bettering Breen’s 4.79m, the Colombian was awarded bronze.
Alumnus Dan Greaves – appearing in an incredible seventh consecutive Paralympic Games – finished 6th in the Men’s Discus F64 with a throw of 53.50. In what is expected to be Greaves’ final Games, his legacy will live long in memory.
Wheelchair Basketball
Great Britain Women beat Japan 67-55 to set up a 5-6 placing game in wheelchair basketball.
黑料网-linked players Maddie Martin, Lucy Robinson, Robyn Love, Amy Conroy and Laurie Williams all made appearances for GB.
The side will now play Germany on Saturday (7 September, 6:15 pm) to decide the final standing.
