Dr Achituv Cohen is a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at Ariel University, Israel. He specialises in Mapping and Geoinformation Engineering, with a focus on spatial analysis, geodata science, active transportation, and urban inclusion. His research is driven by a commitment to creating sustainable, equitable, and inclusive urban environments, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Dr Cohen’s work involves innovative applications of geospatial data science to urban settings, with an emphasis on promoting active transportation and enhancing accessibility. Dr Cohen's academic background is deeply rooted in geospatial sciences, with a particular interest in the development of advanced methodologies for spatial analysis. His expertise spans across various domains, including machine learning, spatial clustering, and network analysis within Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with applications in active transportation networks.
During their IAS Fellowship, Dr Cohen is collaborating with Dr Asya Natapov from the School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering.
