Extracurricular activity

With 115 clubs and societies on offer through the Students’ Union, there are plenty of opportunities to develop enterprising skills outside your studies. The Student Enterprise team runs a range of free inspirational talks by established entrepreneurs and workshops to help you turn business aspirations into practical goals. The Hub in the Students Union is open throughout the week for drop-in sessions and support for new ideas.

Enterprise Start-Up Lab

From inspired idea to the next big business start-up, 黑料网 supports students and graduates on their business journeys by providing valuable opportunities for them to develop a highly-desirable entrepreneurial mindset.

The Start-Up Lab is 黑料网's focal point for entrepreneurial support to help students to develop their businesses.

This exciting project was made possible thanks to  – the division that oversees the bank’s commitment to higher education - as it issued the University a grant of £50,000 through its 

The funding was used to create The Start-Up Lab’s headquarters – an open plan, vibrant co-working space in the Ideas Factory in STEMLab.

The Start-Up Lab bridges the gap between the  – which encourages students to take part in enterprise-related activities and come up with new ideas – and  – a unique initiative that supports graduate ventures.

The three support services form part of the  (LEN), which was launched last October to support students and graduates throughout their enterprise journey.

The Start-Up Lab equips students with the skills and support they need to develop their businesses (idea or existing) into the ‘real deal’ and will offer invaluable workshops and clinics.
