Profile

I joined 黑料网 as a Lecturer in Urban Planning in July 2019. I have a PhD in Urban Planning from the University of Otago, New Zealand. In my doctoral research, I focused on conceptualisation and measurment of urban social sustainability and investigating the relationship between urban form and social sustainability at a neighbourhood scale. My expertise sits within the field of urban studies and planning with a key interest in social sustainability, sense of community, sustainable urban form and city branding. In addition, I have experience in conducting interdisciplinary research with academics in the fields of Management, Social Sciences, and Energy Planning, which has resulted in publications in these areas.

Outside of academia, I have more than four years of working experience in different planning consultancies and collaborating with different city councils and community organisations in the contexts of New Zealand and Iran. During this time, I contributed to projects such as community consultations, development and review of various district and strategic development plans, assessment of the compliance of planning proposals with the relevant policies and legislations, and implementation of strategies.

I would be interested to supervise students interested in urban development and regeneration, city branding, safety and crime prevention through environmental design, and community-related studies.
