Our East Midlands Campus is home to a number of facilities that can be used for rehearsals, performances, workshops and exhibitions.

Music Practice Room

Music rooms with pianos
Usage
Practising on piano or acoustic instruments. Rooms 0.19 and 0.22 suitable for small acoustic groups. No amplified instruments or drums (except electronic drum kits with headphones).
Capacity
5x rooms for 1 person. 0.22 and 0.19 suitable for groups of up to 4.
Booking information

First-come-first serve basis for Music VIP members between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week. You may be asked to vacate a room to allow music tuition to take place: 0.22 in particular is used for this purpose.

 

The rooms are not in the main area of Martin Hall. Click 'Find Out More' for location information.

Accessibility
Step-free access is available. The main block of Martin Hall has an accessible, gender neutral toilet. However, there is no access to any Martin Hall toilets after 6pm or at weekends.

Martin Hall Exhibition Space

Exhibitions related to some aspect of University life

Booking information

Available for staff, students and alumni to host exhibitions relating to their research, study or some aspect of University life. Free to hire but costs must be covered, including invigilation. For further information and booking please click 'Find Out More' below.

Available outside teaching hours. Bookings must be requested via  at least two weeks in advance. There is a charge for public performances unless it is free or proceeds are donated to charity.

The backstage room can be booked separately by emailing LUArts@lboro.ac.uk.

Martin Hall Theatre

Booking information

Martin Hall Theatre can be booked free of charge by University students and staff. However, it has limited availability: it is used as a lecture theatre during teaching hours, and is regularly used by 黑料网 Sport at other times. To enquire about availability and request bookings, please contact Ben Daly of 黑料网 Sport via b.daly@lboro.ac.uk. Please state whether you require use of the tiered seating.

Cope Backstage Room

Layout
Medium-sized rehearsal/backstage area with piano. Some areas of raised floor.
Usage
Suitable for small or medium sized musical group rehearsal, or as a backstage area for the Cope Auditorium. Amplified instruments and drums are permitted outside of teaching hours, provided there is no event in the Cope Auditorium.

Available for staff and students. To request, create an event using University outlook and follow the below steps:

  2. Choose a time when the room is available
  3. In event description, state:
    1. Whether you will use drums or amplified instruments
    2. If step free access is required
    3. Your student/staff number
