LU Arts Pottery Tutor

LU Arts is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and committed Pottery Tutor to lead our highly popular evening classes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will design and deliver our Pottery Evening Classes. These run for eight week blocks up to three times a year on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6.30 to 9pm in the University's Ceramics Studio. They are open to students, staff and the general public of all abilities, and provide a relaxed atmosphere for people to develop their pottery skills. Groups are limited to 12 and materials are provided.

The content of the class can be shaped by the tutor, but we are restricted to the use of earthenware clay due to the limitations of our kiln. Pottery wheels are available for use in the class.

The tutor will have access to a storage area and be responsible for the firing and storage of attendees' work and materials.

Pay

The role is hourly paid and the current rate is £33.11ph inclusive of holiday pay. An additional 30 minutes per class is allowed for set up and take-down. Time spent packing, firing and unpacking the kiln is also paid. The number of hours will be agreed prior to each course.

You will be eligible to join the USS pension scheme.

Informal enquiries should be made to Lisa Pickford, Programme Co-ordinator at l.d.pickford@lboro.ac.uk.
